Simple Schooling Energy Transfer in Ecosystems is all about food chains and how organisms fit into them. Students begin by learning basic terminology, how the sun enables life to thrive and survive, the process of photosynthesis, and the different trophic levels in the food chain.
Students will learn the difference between producers and consumers, and will then learn the various levels of consumers, including the apex predator.
Finally, students will complete the cycle by learning how decomposers help break organic matter back down into nutrients and will have a brief introduction to nutrient cycles. This unit includes 28 vocabulary words spread out over 4 exercises, and 3 ID games to test their comprehension. A certificate of completion is also included.
