Nucleic Acids

Simple Schooling: Creating the DNA Molecule is a high school level course that should be completed after the student finishes Simple Schooling Amino Acids.  It discusses the differences between DNA and RNA as well as purine and pyrimidine nucleotides.  Students learn the general structure of each type of nucleotide as well as the specific structures of adenine, guanine, thymine, cytosine, and uracil.  This unit includes a workbook which tests their comprehension of molecular structure, base paring rules, translation of the genetic code into amino acids, and the structure of DNA and ATP.  They finish up with a final test and a certificate of completion.
