Simple Schooling Planet: Uranus is the 8th installment of the Journey Through the Solar System 10 week series. In this unit students practice their calculations skills when they have to convert between two units, visualize the exact meaning of axial tilt with a supplemental worksheet, and learn about all the amazing characteristics that make Uranus such a special planet. They begin with the extremely far distance from the sun then move on to the peculiar axial tilt of the planet which causes vertical moons and rings. There are lots of activities and vocabulary practice along the way.
Students should have completed all previous Solar System units before attempting this one.
